It would be great to be able to buy fresh bread and milk at the resort each morning however I understand that a lack of interest from other guests makes it difficult to implement

Room very nice & clean, a DVD player would be an advantage & to watch the TV one had to sit on the bed as it did not swivel. We were there for R & R & it would have been lovely to be able to get to the pool/spa easier & back to our room without a "hike"

The swimming area & the rec area - too far away & no aircon very hot. A golf buggy or similar to get around would be helpful

I have recommended this to about 10 people in the last week alone, rarely do you get such good value for money.

To have a package that included a spa and massage at Penisular Hot springs.

We stayed on the lower level of one of the two storey buildings with studio rooms and there was a fair bit of noise coming from the people staying in the room above - i.e. hearing every footstep! This didn't make the stay as enjoyable as it would have been without it - I think this needs to be reviewed. I would definitely come back but request an upper level room!

The quality of the food in both the dining room and cafe was most enjoyable. Service was provided with a smile and nothing was too much trouble.

Our stay was extremely enjoyable and the service and food in the restaurant was great. We left the resort feeling like we'd had a week long holiday.
Needs improvement
We were extremely happy with most things. The only improvement would be the check in time. 1pm would be more suitable for most people. We did later find out through the information leaflet in the room that we could have arranged an earlier check in or later check out, unfortunately this wasn't explained to us when we enquired over the phone.

room had a lot of dust on the screen door and also around the coffee/tea area. Some staff friendly but most were not.

if check in is 3pm then checkout should be 11- this is standard in a lot of places. Try and revamp the dinner menu- limited selection and very expensive for what you got.

Staff were very pleasant and we enjoyed relaxing after the stress of the Healesville fires. It could have been more of a total venue if we felt we could have got better meals at night,and we did wonder why, when the resort is in the middle of a great wine district, there are so few Peninsual wines on your list.

nervousness about tea-tree right up to facility - we have just been through healsevill fires! Also, better quality restaurant would have enticed us to eat there rather than travel further afield. Wooden floors above us made for a restless night when insomniac guests in room above us walked around for hours at night!

Recreation facilities were excellent (pool, table tennis, sauna.) But spa pool was not hot enough.

The golf course is a joy to play on, the greens and firways are very well taken care of and the weather can make the course very challenging. Breakfast was more than adequate, and provided a vast array to choose from.
Needs improvement
The only thing that comes to mind is that the rooms appeared sparce, there was not enough furniture to fill the living room area, but that had more to do with the size of the room than the lack of furniture.

The setting of the property provided a relaxing and comfortable environment to kick back and enjoy our time. The games room was a good place to talk while playing a friendly but competitive game of pool or table tennis. An awesome place to relax.

We had a great weekend at Cape Schank and would definitely recommend the bed and breakfast component to others but would suggest they dine elsewhere for their evening meal.
Needs improvement
Cape schank definitely needs a new chef. We dined in a private room on the saturday night to celebrate a 50th Birthday. The food was very average, my duck was tough and definitely not worth the $30 dollars. One of my fellow guests ordered seafood past which arrived with pasta missing. A group of 10 people costing around $100 per head which included drinks definitely substandard food. The buffet breakfast could also be imnproved, especially the hot food.

4 weeks ago I would have and did, highly recommend it....now it would depend on the individual and type of holiday. The rate has not changed but the exclusions to a family of 4 would probably add up to $80+ a day. This is no longer a family holiday destination. As a golfer- prebooking a week in advance is not my thing either. The weather was beautiful when last there and would have enjoyed a much earlier game and 18 instead of 9 holes...not possible as I had not booked well in advance. Be warned 1-2 days in advance is insufficient!

BReakfast will no longer be included in the tariff - big mistake as there is no supermarket/convenience store closeby to buy groceries without prior planning. Standard of some food and selection has dropped. People staying at the resort need to preferably book into golf prior to arrival as no priority is given to guests at the Resort for play. Games room facilities are tired. Cost cutting measures have taken place in the last month with more to come and it shows! Not in a good way. Some staff (not all)could do with a lesson in Customer Service and smiling. Towels are getting a little thin. Some signage scould be improved as it is confusing unless you literally stop to read it. ie. Leisure area and room accomodation sign looks as though it should lead to Reception unless you stop to read much further down that in fact you need to continue straight ahead. This is on bend in the road - not the safest place to stop and read!

We were unable to check into our room until an hour after the check-in time, which left us waiting around and not able to really do much.

The recreation facilities were a little tired looking, it seems like it has not been maintained very well. Especially the weights room - some of the equipment had fallen apart.

What a wonderful place to stay and incredible value for money. My wife and I with friends stayed at the RACV Cape Schanck Resort on the Mornington Peninsula, we do not know of a better place for a R&R and highly recommend a stay. The place has everything, an excellent golf course, tastefully refurbished accommodation helpful staff, a magnificent breakfast and fabulous views all within an easy reach of Melbourne. The only drawback - The golf - Why I cannot hit this white ball I will never know, Its hard to imagine how one can be so frustrated time and time again, yet returning from holiday completed relaxed.
